Applications are invited for the post of 1 Research Assistant (Full time/ part time) and 1 Field Investigator for ICSSR sponsored project as detailed below:

Project title: “Determinants of Women’s Acceptance of Cervical Cancer Screening Program: A case study of Kamrup district of Assam”.

Project Director: Dr Hari K. Choudhury

Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati, Bongora, Guwahati -781015, Assam, India.

Duration: Initially selection/recruitment will be for 4 months and depending upon the performance, it can be extended to up to 8 Months.

Emoluments: Consolidated @ Rs 20,000/- p.m. for Research Assistant and consolidated @ Rs 15,000/- p.m. for field investigator.

Essential Qualifications:

For Research Assistant - PhD/ MPhil/Post graduate in Economics with minimum 55% marks.

For Field Investigator - MPhil/Post graduate in Economics with minimum 55% marks.

Desirable Qualifications:

a.     Proficiency in written and spoken English and Assamese.

b.     Prior experience of any field research, editing and compiling field work.

c.     Knowledge about basic research tools used in Data Collection and Data Analysis in the field of Social Sciences.

Work Description:

a.       Research Assistant would be expected to contribute in management and research tasks of the project and assist in field work, tabulation of data and report writing.

b.       Field investigator would be required to travel different villages of Kamrup (R) district of Assam and stay there, if required for few weeks during the span of their appointment

c.       Continuation of Research Assistant and Field investigator would be subject to the evaluation and satisfaction of Project Director, failing which they might be subject to removal anytime.
