B.Tech. Admissions


IIITG's B.Tech. program admits 200 students in all for two of its disciplines, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) with an intake capacity of 115 students and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) with an intake capacity of 85 students. Seats are filled up through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) after qualifying JEE (Main) examination administered by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).



  • Why IIIT Guwahati?arrow_drop_down

    1. Affiliation: Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG) is an institution under MHRD, Govt. of India. A Bill (Act of Parliament) to declare all the PPP-IIITs (including IIITG) as Institutes of National Importance has been passed in Lok Sabha.

    2. Permanent Campus: The Institute has shifted to its permanent campus in July 2018. Students are staying in the hostels inside the campus. Most of the faculty members are staying in the faculty residence within the campus itself. The campus is located on a 67 acre plot, 4 km from Guwahati airport, on the National Highway.

    3. Director: Prof. Gautam Barua former Director of IIT Guwahati is the Director of the Institute.

    4. Faculty Strength: Professor – 2, Asst. Professor – 38, Lecturer – 2; Total – 42.

    5. Placement: IIIT Guwahati had a successful placement session during 2016-17 and 2017-18. Some of the companies where our students got placed are: TCS, Microsoft, Mojo Networks, Tejas Networks, Cohesity, Wipro, TechJect, UpGrad, Tectards, Zaloni, Fractal Analytics, Neural.care, Robert Bosch RTC, Dimension NXG, Chatterbox Technologies, Inkriti, CoinDelta, Techvariable, Tetcos, Capital Via, Cracku, SAMM, Bizongo, Open Futures, Accubits Technologies, and Leadsquared.     6. Facilities: An Institute-wide Wi-Fi system provides Internet access throughout the Institute. A 1 Gbps National Knowledge Network (NKN) link has been provided to IIITG.

    7. Accommodation: there is hostel accomodation for 400 boys and 100 girls in the campus. A 9200 sqm Academic-cum-Administration building will house all the Institute activitities. Besides these buildings, there is a treated water supply system, an electric sub-station with backup generators, and a decentralised sewage disposal system.

    The fee structure is given here. IIITG does not provide any financial assistanships to undergraduate students. However student loans and government scholarships can be availed by students very easily. Know about Educational Loans provided by banks and Govt Scholarships.

A Students’ Gymkhana Council co-ordinates student activities. Co-curricular activities are an integral part of a student’s life in IIITG. Our winter semesters are abuzz with sports and a cultural fest – Yuvaan.
